Singapore maintained its position of having both the world's fastest fixed broadband speeds and Asia-Pacific's fastest mobile broadband speeds in November, according to the latest Speedtest results from Ookla.
Singapore recorded average fixed download speeds of 153.85Mbps and mobile broadband speeds of 51.5Mbps, placing it fourth in the world behind Norway, the Netherlands and Iceland.
On the fixed line front, Hong Kong had the second fastest average speeds in APAC and the third overall at 133.94Mbs, but was knocked out of second place by Iceland. South Korea retained the fourth position globally at 127.45Mbps, and Macau maintained seventh place at 87.14Mbps.
The next APAC markets on the list are Japan (14th globally at 73.51Mbps), New Zealand (20th globally at 63.8Mbps), China (23rd globally at 61.24Mbps) and Taiwan (33rd globally at 42.32Mbps).
The slowest APAC fixed line markets are Myanmar (121st globally at 6.97Mbps), Laos (110th globally at 9.52Mbps), Indonesia (93rd globally at 13.38Mbps), Nepal (92nd globally at 14.05Mbps) and the Philippines (91st globally at 14.42Mbps).
In terms of mobile broadband, Australia was the second fastest APAC market by average speeds (6th globally at 49.43Mbps), followed by South Korea (8th globally at 47.64Mbps), New Zealand (13th globally at 40.22Mbps), Hong Kong (18th globally at 35.64Mbps) and Taiwan (24th globally at 33.65Mbps).
At the bottom of the list are India (109th globally at 8.8Mbps), Sri Lanka (107thglobally at 9.32Mbps), Indonesia (106th globally at 9.73Mbps), Brunei (104th globally at 9.83Mbps) and Nepal (99th globally at 10.97Mbps).
